Fowler & Ham Named First Team Academic All-District

Bowling Green State University senior soccer player Ty Fowler (Northville, MI) and senior hockey player Zach Ham (Spokane, WA) were both selected to the 2000 GTE Academic All-District IV University Division Fall/Winter Men's At-Large First Team.
The district team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district. The team consists of athletes from the fall/winter sports of cross country, fencing, gymnastics, ice hockey, rifle, soccer, swimming, water polo and wrestling.
First team selections will appear on the national ballot for the GTE Academic All-America Fall/Winter Men's At-Large Team.
Ham, a repeat First Team selection from a year ago, played in all 37 hockey games this past season. He maintains a 3.87 gpa in architectural/environmental design studies.
Fowler, a first-time honoree, played every minute of every game last fall for the Falcon men's soccer team. He carries a 3.91 gpa in psychology.
