
Baseball Rallies For 3-2 Triumph

The Bowling Green baseball team won its third consecutive game against Buffalo, rallying for a 3-2 triumph on Sunday.
The Bulls led 1-0 after an Adrian Daniels home run leading off the third inning. BG tied the score in the fifth. Scott Dukate led off with a walk, and after a fielder's choice, Nick Elrod doubled down the left field line scoring Nick Schmidt with the tying run.
Buffalo grabbed a 2-1 advantage with Mark Vogel's two-out home run in the top of the eighth inning. Bowling Green rallied again in the bottom of the eighth, when with two outs, Sean Ryan and Lee Morrison each homered to the opposite field.
Doug Flere started for BG and went the first four innings. He struck out nine and walked only one batter, while allowing two hits and one run (earned). Deryck Griffith pitched 4.2 innings for his first collegiate victory. Griffith struck out three and walked two, while allowing one run (earned) on two hits. Ryan Streb fanned the final batter for his second save of the season.
Tom Januchowski started for Buffalo and went 7. 2 innings allowing five hits and three runs, all earned. He struck out seven and walked four. Jeff Robertson retired the lone batter he faced.
Senior designated hitter Alan Gilhousen had his 10-game hitting streak stopped. Lee Morrison had two of BG's five hits, while Sean Ryan, Nick Schmidt and Nick Elrod had the other hits.
BG is now 7-9-1, while Buffalo falls to 5-12. The Falcons will host Oakland University at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, before travelling to Ann Arbor on Wednesday to face the Michigan Wolverines.
