Men's Golf Returns To Action This Weekend

After a 20-day hiatus, the Bowling Green State University men's golf team returns to competitive action on April 15 by participating in the Ball State Invitational.
The Invitational teams include Butler, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, IUPU-Indianapolis, Morehead State, Murray State, Notre Dame, Southern Illinois, Wright State and Youngstown State.
The Ball State Invitational will be a 54-hole event with 36 holes being played on Saturday and the final 18 holes being contested on Sunday. The Invitational will take place at The Players Club in Yorktown, Indiana.
BG's top golfers (based on season average) heading into the tournament are sophomore Justin Gillham (77.05), junior Jon Smarrelli (77.37) and freshman Adam Balls (77.58). All three have played all 19 rounds this season. Sophomore Brian Gerken, in 12 rounds, has an average score of 76.92, while freshman Andy Miller has an 80.23 average in 13 rounds.
The Falcons last competition was Mar. 24-25 when they finished in a fifth-place tie out of 18 schools at the Eastern Kentucky Spring Intercollegiate.
