Bowling Green State University senior Ty Fowler (Northville, MI), a goalkeeper on the men's soccer team, has been selected to the 1999-2000 GTE Academic All-America University Division Men's Fall-Winter At-Large Third Team.
Fowler played every minute of every game this past fall as the Falcons compiled an 8-10-1 record. On the field, he was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player at the 1999 BGSU Soccer Classic after posting back-to-back shutouts. Fowler earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors for the two shutouts. He was also selected MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 11.
Fowler maintains a 3.91 cumulative grade-point average in psychology and had five semesters with a perfect 4.00 gpa.
