Women's Track Places Third At WMU Quadrangular

The Bowling Green State University women's track team finished third in the 2000 Western Michigan University quadrangular Saturday at Kanley Track & Field Complex in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Central Michigan won the meet with a team score of 222, while the Broncos finished second at 177. Bowling Green finished third with 140 points, with the Spartans of Michigan State placing fourth with 108 points.
Winning individual events were junior Christine Thompson (Amherst, OH/Steele) in the 3,000 meters with a BG season-best time of 10:01.62, senior Andrea Cook (Marysville, OH) in the pole vault at a heighth of 11'05.75 (3.50m), freshman Mary Willems (Huntington, IN/North) in the shot put with a BG season-best toss of 44'08.00 (13.61m), and junior Lori Williams (Erie, PA/McDowell) in the discus throw with an effort of 163'07.00 (49.86m).
Bowling Green will be sending both men's and women's squads next Friday and Saturday to the Hillsdale Relays and Drake Relays.
