BGSU Swimming Teams Honor 1999-2000 Award Winners

The Bowling Green State University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams presented its 1999-2000 awards on Saturday.
Senior Nancy Simpson (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) won the "Most Improved" award. She also won the Swimmer of the Year for the highest point total. Senior tri-captain Sarah Abell (Maineville, OH/Ursuline Academy) claimed the "Most Valuable" award, while seniors Ellyn Vreeland (Oak Harbor, OH/Oak Harbor) and Patti Wilson (Massillon, OH/Jackson) were honored as the co-Divers of the Year.
The 2000-2001 tri-captains were also announced. They are seniors-to-be Jen Jarjosa (Cincinnati, OH/Lakota), and Katie Barry (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) along with junior-to-be Kelli Pydynowski (Bloomington, IL/ University).
Freshman Ray Bartel (Avon Lake, OH/Avon Lake) won the "Most Improved" award for the men's team. Senior tri-captain Matt Johnsen (N. Canton, OH/Hoover) claimed the "Most Valuable" award for the second consecutive year. Junior tri-captain Andy Jenkins (Oak Harbor, OH/Oak Harbor) received the Swimmer of the Year for the the highest point total.
The 2000-2001 tri-captains were also announced. They are seniors-to-be Andy Jenkins (Oak Harbor, OH/Oak Harbor) and Matt Ellinger (Delaware, OH/Delaware Hayes) along with junior-to-be Kyle O'Hara (West Chester, OH/Lakota West).
