Bowling Green's Lori Williams (Erie, Pa./McDowell) posted the school's top finish during Thursday's (April 6) portion of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The event, hosted by the University of Texas, is being held in Austin, Texas.
Williams, a junior, finished fifth in the women's hammer throw with an effort of 52.64 meters (172 feet, 8 inches). That throw is a season-best.
The Falcons' only other competitors during Thursday's action were the four men that made up the 4x800-meter relay. Senior Pete Lisi (Wapakoneta, Ohio), freshman Ed Stonestreet (McDonald, Ohio), and seniors Kreg Hatfield (Circleville, Ohio) and Pat Miller (Waterloo, Ind./DeKalb) finished 11th in the event, with a time of 7:51.19.
The Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays continue on Friday (April 7) and Saturday (April 8). Friday's scheduled competitors for the Falcon men include the sprint medley relay team of sophomore Ricco Oglesby (Columbus, Ohio/South), freshman Zerian Peterson (Lima, Ohio), seniors Rah'Sheen Clay (Cleveland, Ohio/Collinwood) and Miller. Additionally, Oglesby is scheduled to compete in the 100 meter dash, while senior John Hustler (Cobourg, Ontario) is entered in Friday night's javelin event.
On the women's side, senior Andrea Cook (Marysville, Ohio) will compete in the pole vault, while Williams will compete in both the shot put and the discus.
