Two Falcons earned Mid-American Conference all-league honors as voted by the league coaches at last night's MAC tournament meeting.
Junior starting pitcher Tony Fontana was named to the All-MAC First Team, while senior designated hitter Alan Gilhousen was selected to the All-MAC Second Team.
Fontana was 8-3 for BG this season with a 2.69 earned-run average. He completed eight of his 14 starts with two shutouts, while limiting opposing batters to a .227 average.
Fontana compiled a 5-1 mark in MAC games with a 2.22 ERA, while striking out 50 batters in 48.2 innings. MAC batters hit only .169 against him and were held to 28 hits in 166 at-bats.
Gilhousen batted .331 for BG, while starting 51 of 54 contests. He finished second on the squad with 42 RBI and third in on-base percentage (.400).
In league contests, Gilhousen batted .300 while starting all 26 games. He had 17 RBI and finished with more walks (12) than strikeouts (11).
