Six Falcon women and one relay team scored victories at the BGSU Invitational. The Falcons were led by senior Stephanie Heldt (Toledo, OH/Central Catholic). Heldt established a new school record and provisionally qualified for nationals in the high jump with a jump of 6-0. For her efforts, she was named MAC Female Track Athlete of the Week.
The Falcons dominated the field event portion of the invite, winning four of the six events. Joining Heldt with first place honors were classmates Lisa Keegan (Green Springs, OH/Clyde) in the weight throw and Andrea Cook (Marysville, OH) in the pole vault. Keegan's throw of 52-8 3/4 and Cook's jump of 11-5 3/4 were both good enough for first place. Freshman Kerri McClung (Portland, IN/Jay County) won the shot put with a throw of 46-6 3/4.
In the 5,000 meters, senior Lisa Mariea raced to first place, posting a time of 17:35.04. Freshman Brianna Killian won the 600 meter race with a time of 1:38.62.
