Men's Tennis Completes Regional Action

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's tennis team has completed action at the ITA Omni Hotels Midwest Championships. BGSU players competed in both singles and doubles play Saturday (Oct. 27) at the event, hosted by Michigan State University.
BGSU junior Geoff Hiscox, who had advanced to the third round of action Friday, was knocked out of the singles bracket Saturday. Hiscox, the 15th seed for the tournament, was defeated by 16th-seeded Mike Calkins of Illinois, 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles play, the BGSU team of Hiscox and senior Vitek Wild lost to the Wisconsin duo of Green/Rutherford by an 8-5 score.
The Falcons are scheduled to complete the fall portion of the 2001-02 season at next weekend's Birney/Rocket Indoor in Toledo. The three-day tournament is scheduled to run Friday through Sunday (Nov. 2-4).
