Women's Gymnastics Ready For MAC Contests

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's gymnastics team will look to improve on its 3-1 MAC record when it faces Eastern Michigan, Friday at 7 p.m., in Ypsilanti and Central Michigan, Sunday at 2 p.m., in Mt. Pleasant.
BGSU is 6-5 overall, while EMU is 6-4 and 3-1 and CMU is 2-8 and 1-3.
NATIONALLY
The Falcons are ranked 20th in the vault as a team (48.593). Junior Marny Oestreng is 10th in the vault (9.846) and Pia Sjovall is 18th (9.829).
IN THE MAC
BGSU tied with Central Michigan for the highest team score at 195.950. The Falcons are first in the vault (49.100) and beam (49.125). BGSU is ranked fifth in the bars (48.725) and floor exercise (49.275).
Oestreng is first in the floor (9.975) and bars (9.925). She is fourth in the vault (9.950) and fifth in the all-around (39.125).
Sophomore Ann Marie Kassouf, the current MAC Gymnast of the Week is fourth in the bars (9.875) and beam (9.900) and fifth in the all-around (39.125). Sophomore Kathy Emerson is eighth in the beam (9.875) and Sjovall is fifth in the vault (9.875).
