TOLEDO, Ohio - For the second consecutive day, the Bowling Green State University men's tennis team came up just short, falling by a 4-3 score. This time, DePaul University captured the match, held Saturday (Feb. 24) at Shadow Valley in Toledo.
With the loss, the Falcons now fall to 7-2 in dual-match play this season.
The teams split the six singles matches, with BGSU's winners including junior Vitek Wild, sophomore Geoff Hiscox and freshman Nick Moxley.
Wild captured a three-set match from the Blue Demons' Maciek Jozwiak at the top flight, while Hiscox downed Robert Kurek in straight sets at the #2 flight. Moxley also won in straight sets, at the number-six flight.
In doubles, the team of Moxley and sophomore Micael Lopez-Acevedo was BGSU's lone winner, capturing their match at the third flight.
The Falcons will look to rebound with Saturday's (March 3) match against the University of Louisville. That contest will mark the first of 11 consecutive contests away from home for Jay Harris and his team. BGSU's next action in Northwest Ohio will be on April 7.
