Tampa, Florida - The Bowling Green women's golf team concluded play at the 15th annual Snowbird Intercollegiate Friday, tied for 12th place in the 17-team field. The Falcons finished with an overall team score of 671, tying them with the Bearcats of the University of Cincinnati. Arkansas State University won the team portion of the event with a two-day total of 623. The meet, hosted by Northern Illinois University was held at the Pebblecreek Country Club in Tampa, FL.
Individually, sophomore Stephanie Elsea (Worthington, Ohio) was the highest placing Falcon, tying for 22nd overall, with a score of 163. Freshman Jenny Schnipke (Kalida, Ohio) made the biggest improvement on day two of the tournament for BGSU, shooting an 80 after a first-day score of 87. Sophomore Shelley Binzel finished the tournament tied for 46th overall, after rounds of 80 and 86 gave her a two-day score of 166.
The Falcons are now idle until April 8-9 when they travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to take part in the Bronco Classic.
