Men's Tennis Falls At OSU, 7-0

The Ohio State University handed the visiting Bowling Green State University men's tennis team a 7-0 setback Wednesday evening (March 7). The dual match was held at Jesse Owens West.
With the win, the Buckeyes, ranked 29th in the nation, improved their record to 10-1 (2-0 Big Ten). BGSU fell to 7-4 on the year.
OSU swept the doubles matches with three wins to earn the first point of the match. The Falcon duo of senior Brandon Gabel and sophomore Peter Gardonyi fell by a narrow 9-8 score at the third flight.
In singles play, BGSU junior Vitek Wild took OSU's Phillip Metz, ranked 63rd in the nation, to a third-set tiebreaker before succumbing, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (5). Metz fell behind in the opening of the third set tie-breaker, 3-0, before storming back to a three-all tie. Wild again jumped ahead by winning the next two points (5-3) before Metz won the final four points to take the win.
