Women's Track Kicks Off Busy Weekend

The Bowling Green women's track kicked off a busy weekend competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Hillsdale Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan.
At Drake, senior Andrea Cook (Marysville, OH) placed seventh in the pole vault clearing a height of 11-10 1/2. Also on Friday, the distance medley relay team of senior Christine Thompson (Amherst, OH), junior Jovone Houpe (Gahanna, OH), freshman Briana Killian (Englewood, OH) and sophomore Joy Echler (Montpelier, OH) finished 18th in a tough field. The foursome posted a time of 12:09.96. Echler also competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase Thursday finishing 11th overall in 11:11.02.
Action kicked off at Hillsdale Thursday with sophomore Brooke Allen (Oregon, OH) and freshman Jensine Pernell (Cleveland Heights, OH) competing in the heptathlon. At the events conclusion on Friday, Pernell was eighth overall with 4,005 points with Allen right behind in ninth at 3,965. Five other Falcons were slated for competition on Friday, but as of late Friday evening, no results were available.
