Columbus, OH - Members of the Bowling Green State University men's track competed Sunday at the annual Jesse Owens Track Classic hosted by The Ohio State University. Sophomore Josh Cook (Clyde, OH) won the morning portion of the 800 meters posting a time of 1:56.43. In the afternoon section of the 800, Cook actually posted a better time at 1:55.44, but the time was only good enough for 10th place overall.
Two BGSU throwers also placed in the top five in their respective events. Senior Dan Corleto (Euclid, OH) took third place in the discus with a throw of 168-4. Freshman Jamal Salahuddin (Cleveland, OH) finished fifth in the shot put at 57-2 3/4.
The Falcons return to competition May 17-19 when they travel to Ypsilanti, MI for the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships.
