CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference office announced the 2001 MAC Men's Tennis Honor Roll, and five members of the Bowling Green State University team were among those honored.
BGSU's five selections are the most of any MAC school.
Senior Brandon Gabel (3.38 grade point average/finance), junior Mike Kossoff (3.20/interpersonal communication) and sophomores Peter Gardonyi (3.58/management information systems), Micael Lopez-Acevedo (3.85/biology) and Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo (3.77/biology) all were named to the team.
To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and earn a letter for the current season. Freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible, as a student-athlete must have attended the institution for an entire year to qualify for the award.
The Falcons of head coach Jay Harris finished the 2000-01 season with a dual-match record of 19-10, including a 3-2 MAC mark.
