Softball Student-Athletes Honored

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference office announced the 2001 MAC Softball Honor Roll, and 10 members of the Bowling Green State University team were among those honored.
The Falcons' 10 selections were the most of any MAC school.
Seniors Lynsey Ebel (3.37 grade point average/biology) and Nikki Rouhana (3.33/sport management), juniors Holly Frantz (3.83/sport management), Andrea Genter (3.95/early childhood education), Jessie Milosek (3.83/human movement science), Natalie Phillips (3.42/middle childhood education), Renee Rosemeier (3.00/applied health sciences) and Rebekah Tipton (3.17/applied health sciences), sophomore Jess Jenkins (3.04/nursing) and redshirt freshman Liz Tuza (3.05/early childhood education) all were named to the team.
The entire Falcon junior class, numbering six, earned mention on the squad.
To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and earn a letter for the current season. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible, as a student-athlete must have attended the institution for an entire year to qualify for the award.
The Falcons of head coach Leigh Ross-Shaw finished the 2001 season with an overall record of 35-19, tying for the second-highest win total in school history. BGSU won the MAC's East Division with a league record of 19-5. Ross-Shaw was the MAC Coach of the Year while Rouhana was the MAC Player of the Year in 2001.
