Softball Ranked In Several National Categories

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The NCAA has released the final 2001 statistics for softball, and Bowling Green State University is listed in several national categories. The Falcons are mentioned in one individual and three team categories.
Individually, senior Jen Domschot finished 18th in the country in walks, with 0.59 per game. Domschot set a school record with 32 bases on balls in her 54 games.
As a team, the Falcons finished fifth in the nation in double plays turned, with 0.50 per game. BGSU turned 27 twin killings in 54 outings.
The Falcons also finished among the national leaders in a pair of extra-base categories. BG was 11th in the country in doubles per game (1.41) and tied for 34th in triples per contest (0.28).
BGSU finished 35-19 in 2001, winning the Mid-American Conference's East Division with a league record of 19-5.
