Harris Named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has announced its weekly divisional players of the week in football for games played the week of October 5.
West Division
Offense: Josh Harris, Bowling Green, QB (Jr., Westerville, Ohio) was responsible for six touchdowns in a 72-21 win over Ohio. Harris completed 19-of-24 passes for 297 yards and four scores and rushed 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Harris leads the nation in scoring with 15 points per game.
Defense: Jerry Gaines, Eastern Michigan, S (So., Canton, Mich.) in a 42-34 win over Akron returned a fumble 36 yards for a touchdown and intercepted a pass on the Zips last offensive play of the game.
Defense: Randee Drew, Northern Illinois, CB (Jr., Milwaukee, Wisc.) had two interceptions and caused a fumble in a 41-29 win at Ball State. Drew also deflected two passes and had five tackles (3 solo). Drew produced 191 yards with three kickoff returns for 115 yards and his 76 yard interception return was the fifthlongest in school history.
Special Teams: Kendrick Mosley, Western Michigan, PR (Jr., Pahokee, Fla.) in his first game as a punt returner, he amassed 138 yards, matching the second highest total in school history and 13 yards off the record. Mosley had a 64-yard touchdown return and another return for 50 yards. He also had a 40-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter and finished with 224 all-purpose yards.
East Division
Offense: Franklin Wallace, Marshall, TB (Jr., Myrtle Beach, S.C.) averaged 9.9 yards per carry with 149 yards on 15 attempts in a 42-21 win over Kent State. Had a 69 yard run on the Herd's first play from scrimmage with the team backed up on its own one-yard line. Closed out the scoring with a 32-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Defense: Milt Bowen, Miami, S (Sr., Newfield, N.J.) in the RedHawks 31-26 win over Cincinnati, had two interceptions in the Bearcats last three drives to secure the win. Also made five tackles (3 solo, 2 assisted) and had three pass break ups.
Special Teams: Josh Betts, Miami, Holder (Fr., Vandalia, Ohio) threw a 13-yard touchdown pass on a fake field goal to give the RedHawks a 24-21 lead at the time. Miami went on to beat Cincinnati 31-26. Betts is the RedHawks backup quarterback.
Additional East Division Nominations: Offense - Kent State QB Joshua Cribbs (199 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 22 attempts and 145 passing yards versus Marshall); Miami RB Luke Clemens (114 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 attempts in 31-26 win at Cincinnati).
Defense - Buffalo DB Mike Lambert (one interception and three pass break ups versus Western Michigan, returned the interception 87 yards and also recorded a sack); Marshall DB Roberto Terrell (four tackles, one interception, one pass breakup at Kent State);
Special Teams - Marshall P/PK Curtis Head (two field goals, including a career-best from 46 yards, and a 53 yard punt at Kent State).
Additional West Division Nominations: Offense - Eastern Michigan WR Kevin Walter (nine receptions for 225 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-34 win over Akron); Northern Illinois QB Josh Haldi (13-of-20 passing for four touchdowns and 171 yards in a 41-29 win at Ball State); Western Michigan RB Phil Reed (142 rushing yards and a touchdown in a 31-17 win at Buffalo).
Defense - Bowling Green DB Jason Morton (nine tackles, six solo, one pass deflection and one tackle for a loss versus Ohio); Western Michigan DE Jason Babin (three sacks among his seven tackles at Buffalo).
Special Teams - Bowling Green P Shaun Suisham (tied a school mark with eight PATs and added a field goal versus Ohio); Northern Illinois PR Dan Sheldon (64-yard punt return with 3:35 remaining to secure a 41-29 win at Ball State)
