Ann Arbor, Mich. - Bowling Green's two-game winning streak was snapped Wednesday night at the University of Michigan with a 2-0 setback to the Wolverines.
BGSU had won two in a row over Mid-American Conference opponents (3-0 and 2-1) heading into its non-conference matchup with Michigan. The Falcons were outshot 24-5 for the game (11-2 shots on goal), but junior David DeGraff had five saves in the first half and four saves in the second half for the Falcons to keep the game close.
UM's Knox Cameron scored the first goal of the game at just 6:19 for a 1-0 lead. The Wolverine lead remained at just one goal until late in the game when Mike White added to the lead (79:15) off of a BGSU turnover.
Michigan (4-5-1) held a 9-4 shot advantage in the first half and a 15-1 advantage in the second half. BGSU's two shots on goal came off of the boot of senior Damion Bennett and freshman Andres Marques.
The game also snapped a two-game scoring streak for junior-transfer Paul Dhaliwall who had scored three goals in the last two Falcon contests.
Bowling Green is off this weekend. The Falcons return to action and MAC play on Friday, Oct. 18, with a trip to Western Michigan (3 p.m.).
