Falcons Handle Shawnee State, 96-68

Bowling Green, Ohio - Freshman Ron Lewis scored 22 points to lead five Falcons who scored in double figures as BGSU defeated Shawnee State, 96-68, in its final exhibition game of the season. Lewis, a product of Columbus Brookhaven High School, hit nine of 13 shots from the field, including both of his three-point attempts. He also added five boards and two assists.
Junior Kevin Netter had 19 points, five rebounds and two blocks as the Falcons shot 60.3 % from the field. Sophomore Germain Fitch had 10 points, eight boards (three offensive) and four assists, while senior Cory Ryan added 10 points and team-high seven assists.
"This was a really difficult team to play against because of the way they shoot the ball," said BGSU Coach Dan Dakich. "I thought our kids did a really good job."
Shawnee State was led by Antwain Lavender who scored 26 points.
The Falcons led 48-34 at halftime and outrebounded the Bears, 42-33. BGSU also had just 12 turnovers.
The Falcons open the regular season Saturday, November 23 at Detroit. Tip-off is at 4:05 p.m.
