TOLEDO, Ohio -
The University of Toledo defeated the Bowling Green State University football team by a 42-24 count Saturday night (Nov. 30). Here are some notes from the game...
Junior quarterback Josh Harris ran for three touchdowns in the game, tying his career best ... he also had three scores on the ground at Central Michigan ... Harris scored three TDs in the Falcons' win over Missouri, but one of those was a reception.
The first TD by Harris -- a three-yard run late in the first quarter -- was his 20th score of the season, setting a new school record ... the old record of 19 was held by Dave Preston (1974) and Bernard White (1985) ... Harris ended the night with 22 total TD on the year.
With 223 yards of total offense in the UT game, Harris set a new school single-season record in that category ... Harris now has 3,162 yards of total offense in 2002, breaking Brian McClure's record of 3,009 yards (1983).
The Falcons have set a new Mid-American Conference standard for touchdowns in a season, with 65 ... the old mark of 64 was held by the 1997 Marshall team.
BGSU had three first-half scoring drives that took 1:25 or less ... on the year, BG has 73 total offensive scoring drives ... 34 of those drives were less than two minutes, and 46 took three minutes or less.
Harris has 20 rushing TDs this season, breaking the school record held by Dave Preston (1974).
The Falcons averaged just over 20,611 fans in four MAC road games this season ... BGSU was the lone MAC team to average more than 20,000 fans in conference road contests this season.
BGSU ends conference play with a record of 6-2, and the Falcons are 9-3 overall ... the 2002 team is just the seventh in school history, and the first since 1994, to have nine overall wins ... this year's edition of the Brown and Orange is the ninth in school history to amass six conference victories ... the 1994 squad is the most recent team to reach that plateau (9-2 overall, 7-1 MAC).
