Falcons Topple Urbana, 76-48

The BGSU men's basketball team evened it season record at 4-4 with a 76-48 victory over Urbana, Saturday night in Anderson Arena. Sophomores John Reimold and Cory Eyink each had 16 points, while senior Cory Ryan added 15.
"We did not play as nearly as hard as we are capable of playing," said Coach Dan Dakich. I did not think we played with a real championship effort. The only thing we won on was our physical ability."
Reimold (13) and Ryan (12) helped BGSU post a 42-23 lead at halftime as the Falcons shot 51.6 from the field in the first half with those two connecting on five of nine from three-point range.
Eyink, who established new career-high's with 16 points and nine rebounds, had 11 second half points to lead the Falcons in the second 20-minutes of action. It was the third straight game that Eyink has scored in double digits. Junior Jabari Mattox also stepped up by nailing all three of his long distance attempts and finished with nine points. For the season, Mattox is shooting 54.5 from three-point range.
"When Jabari steps up and hits those shots it makes it easier for the rest of us," said Eyink.
The Falcons saw nine of their 10 players score points. Football players Cole Magner hit a three-pointer and had two boards and two steals and Keon Newson added a steal and a layup for BGSU.
The team's leading scorer, Kevin Netter, was held to eight points, but did have four steals and two blocks. Freshman Ron Lewis added five points, six boards, five assists and three steals. Freshman Raheem Moss added two points, two boards and a steal.
The Falcons will break for the Christmas Holiday before returning to action next Saturday evening against Cleveland State in the Rock and Roll Shootout at Gund Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the game airing on Fox Sports Ohio.
