BGSU Women's Golf 8th After Day One

Tampa, Fla. - The Bowling Green women's golf team is in eighth place after day one of the 16th Annual Snowbird Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla., hosted by Northern Illinois University. The 22-team tournament is being held at Pebblecreek Country Club and is the spring opener for the Falcons.

BGSU has a team score of 327 after the first of two rounds, while Arkansas State (305), Southern Mississippi (307) and Southern Illinois (312) are the top three teams.

Junior Shelley Binzel is tied for fourth overall with a 75 after one round while sophomore Jenny Schnipke is tied for 17th after carding a 78. Also competing for the Falcons are Stephanie Elsea (86), Shannon Smith (88) and Julie Wise (92).

The Falcons play the final round on Friday, March 15.
