Despite being rained out on the final day of competition, the BGSU Women's Track and Field team faired well at the Kansas Relays, specifically, the 1600 meter sprint medley relay team. The quartet of sophomore Alicia Taylor, senior JoVone Houpe, freshman Tamika Dixon and senior Christine Thompson placed first in the event with a time of 4:01.70. Dixon (third leg) was quoted, "I just wanted to catch the lead on the back stretch. I did that and we came home with the win." Thompson then noted, "These girls did a great job to get me the lead. Being the distance leg in this relay, I just had to come out and represent to get the win."
The 4x880 Relay team also performed well, earning the silver with a time of 9:18.75. The four members were junior Briana Killian, sophomore Ellen Alkire, junior Joy Echler, and senior Christine Thompson.
The 4x400 relay team of Dixon, Houpe, Alkire, and Taylor posted a preliminary time of 3:49.12, which was good enough to qualify for the finals. Unfortunately, the Falcons were not able to win the event due to inclement weather and the cancellation of the final day of competition.
