BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University softball team is well represented in the latest NCAA statistics. Three members of the Falcons are ranked among the top-25 players in the nation in doubles per game, while the team is also ranked in batting average. The latest NCAA statistics are through games of May 12.
Senior Natalie Phillips ranks seventh in the nation in doubles, with a per-game average of 0.37. Phillips had 16 doubles in 43 games played in 2002. Junior Libby Voshell also had 16 two-base hits in her 46 games this season. She ranks 10th with a mark of 0.35.
Senior Renee Rosemeier is tied for 25th in the nation with 0.30 doubles per game, having totalled 14 doubles in 47 games.
BGSU is the only team with two student-athletes ranked in the top-10 in that category, and the Falcons are the lone school with three players listed in the top-30.
As a team, the Falcons are ranked 29th in the country in batting average, with a .289 mark. BGSU is the Mid-American Conference leader in that category.
The Falcons finished the 2002 season with an overall record of 22-25-1. BGSU tied for third in the MAC's East Division with a league mark of 11-13.
