Lori Williams Named MAC Scholar-Athlete Of Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's track and field student-athlete Lori Williams has been named the Mid-American Conference's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the MAC office has announced.
Williams earned the league honor after garnering 16 of BGSU's team total of 41.5 points at the MAC Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich., last weekend. The Erie, Pa., native finished second in the discus at the MAC Championships, with an NCAA Provisional throw of 164'9" (50.23m).
Additionally, Williams placed third in the hammer throw, with a heave of 173'5" (52.87m), and also earned points in the shotput, placing seventh (43'5"). For her efforts, Williams was named to the All-MAC Second Team for the third time in her BGSU career.
Williams currently maintains a 3.82 cumulative grade point average as an elementary education major.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by one of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
