Sporting News Picks BGSU First, Street and Smith's Has Falcons Second

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team was picked to win the MAC's West Division by The Sporting News and slated to finish second according to Street and Smith's preseason football publications.
Senior wide receiver Robert Redd, senior center Jon Mazur and junior cornerback Janssen Patton also were selected as preseason All-MAC performers by The Sporting News. The Falcons also have been chosen as MAC West preseason favorites by Lindy's and Athlon's.
Nationally, The Sporting News ranked the Falcons 44th after rating them as the 101st best program in the country in last year's preseason rankings.
