Dr. Naomi Lee Named Asst. AD for Student-Athlete Services

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University announced today the hiring of Dr. Naomi Lee as assistant athletic director for student-athlete services.
Dr. Lee has served as the assistant to the Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Director of Student Program Services at BGSU since 1996. She has worked in the academic advising field since 1981, first at Washington State University and then at the University of Florida before coming to Bowling Green State University in 1996.
Prior to her arrival in Ohio, Dr. Lee served as Associate Director of University Advising/Director of Advising for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Florida from 1987-1995. Before that, she served as an academic advisor for athletes at Washington State University and as a visiting assistant professor of Education.
Dr. Lee contributes extensively with publications and presentations to three professional associations; the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), and the Academic Affairs Administers (ACAFAD). She has held leadership positions in all three associations and is currently Past President of ACAFAD. In 1992, she received the Outstanding Advisor Award from NACADA and in 1993, the Morton Wolfson Award for Outstanding Service to students from the University of Florida.
In 1995, under her leadership, the University Advising Center at the University of Florida received the Outstanding Institutional Award from NACADA. In 1999, she was awarded Bowling Green State University's BG Best Award. Dr. Lee received her undergraduate (1976) and masters (1981) degrees from Washington State University, as well as her doctorate in 1984.
Dr. Lee's husband, Gary, is Chair of the Sociology Department at BGSU. She has one daughter, Laura, who lives in Sylvania with her husband and daughter.
