TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University women's cross country team posted a 23rd-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Saturday (Nov. 10). The 31-team, 208-runner race was hosted by Indiana State University.
Junior Joy Echler was the top Falcon finisher in the race, placing 91st with a time of 23:12.9 in the 6K race. Amber Culp wasn't far behind, finishing 98th in a 23:22.0 result.
Sarah Lohrbach (115th, 23:35.4), Melissa Krueger (137th, 24:03.9), Christy Paine (148th, 24:16.2), Elise Gould (151st, 24:18.1) and Cyndi Bostdorff (171st, 24:49.1) also competed in the race.
The event marked the final action of the 2001 season for the Falcon women's cross country team.

The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team posted a 25th-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Saturday (Nov. 10). The 31-team, 207-runner race was hosted by Indiana State University.
Senior Tom Kutter was the top Falcon finisher in the race, placing 53rd in a time of 32:19.0. Classmate Chad Kunkle was 131st overall, crossing the line in a 34:02.2 time.
Justin Perez (149th, 34:26.3), Andy Artiaga (168th, 35:02.3), Phil King (176th, 35:23.5) and Dave Larson (205th, 39:09.8) also competed for the Brown and Orange in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
The 10K race marked the completion of the 2001 season for the BGSU men's cross country squad.
