Redd Named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week

West Division Offense: Robert Redd, Bowling Green, WR (Sr., Dayton, Ohio) set a Perry Stadium record for a BG player with 209 receiving yards in a 51-28 win over Missouri. Redd had 10 receptions, among them a 30-yard touchdown reception. Finished with 245 all-purpose yards and boosted his career receiving yards to 2,027.Defense: Larry Williams, Northern Illinois, LB (Sr., Chicago, Ill.) had a team-high 13 tackles, 10 solo, in the Huskies 21-17 loss at Wisconsin. His three sacks were among the team's 10 sacks and he helped limit the Badgers to 68 rushing yards and defending Big Ten rushing champ Anthony Davis to just 49 yards on 14 attempts.
Special Teams: Reggie Hodges, Ball State, P (So., Champaign, Ill.) in a 23-21 win over Indiana State, Hodges twice pinned the Sycamores inside the 20 yard line. He punted six times for an aver-age of 46.2 ypk and a long of 51 yards.
Additional Nominations: Offense - Ball State TB Marcus Merriweather (46 yards, 3 TDs on 27 carries versus Indiana State); Central Michigan HB Kenan Lawhorne (30 carries, 133 yards, 2 TDs versus Akron); Eastern Michigan WR Kevin Walter (11 receptions, 112 yards, 2 TDs, in-cluding game winner versus SE Missouri); Northern Illinois TB Michael Turner (game-high 160 rush yards, 2 TDs, both in 4th quarter, at Wisconsin); Toledo QB Brian Jones (23-30, 195 yards and no interceptions at Minnesota); Western Michigan RB Phil Reed (81 rush yards, with a long of 58 for a TD, on 14 carries at Purdue).
Defense - Ball State LB Lorenzo Scott (8 tackles, 1 forced fumble versus Indiana State); Bowling Green LB Mitch Hewitt (11 tack-les, 1 tfl versus Missouri); Toledo LB David Gardner (8 tackles, 1 tfl at Minnesota); Western Michigan DE Josh Babin (3 sacks, 4 tfl at Purdue).
Special Teams - Bowling Green PK Shaun Suishman (3-3 FG, 6- 6 PAT for 15 points versus Missouri); Northern Illinois PK Steve Azar (3-3 FG, 9 points at Wisconsin); Toledo KR Donta Greene (5 KOR, 134 yards at Minnesota); Western Michigan PR/KR Greg Jennings (111 return yards at Purdue, had a 76-yard KOR to set up first score). East Division Offense: Josh Cribbs, Kent State, QB (So., Upper Marlboro, Md.) accounted for 400 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, in-cluding a 35-yard, game-winning scoring pass with 48 seconds left in a 37-34 win versus Cal Poly. Rushed for a career high 207 yards on 14 attempts (14.8 ypc) and now leads the nation with 164 rush-ing yards per game. Scored on touchdown runs of 72 and 48 yards. Defense: Nashville Dyer, Kent State, DB (Sr., Riviera Beach, Fla.) made two interceptions and had a game-high 11 tackles (9 solo) in the Golden Flashes' come from behind 37-34 win over Cal Poly. Both interceptions were deep in KSU territory, at the two-yard line and in the end zone.
Special Teams: Kevin Kerr, Ohio, PK (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio) hit field goals from 48 and 20 yards to account for all the Bobcats' points in a 34-6 loss at Florida. Kerr's kicks kept the Bobcats within a 7-6 margin late into the second quarter. His two field goals give him a school record 30 three-pointers.
Additional Nominations: Offense - Marshall WR Curtis Jones (career highs with 11 receptions for 164 yards at Virginia Tech); Ohio QB Dontrell Jackson (118 rush yards on 29 carries at Florida).
Defense - Marshall DE Jamus Martin (9 tackles at Virginia Tech); Ohio CB Chip Cox (team-high 8 tackles, 7 solo, at Florida).
Special Teams - Buffalo P Scott McMahan (11 punts, 42.1 avg. versus UConn); Kent State P Jared Fritz (49.2 ypk on 4 kicks ver-sus Cal Poly); Marshall PK/P Curtis Head (49.0 ypk on 3 boots at Virginia Tech).
