Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team is third after day one of the Lady Falcon Invitational at Forrest Creason Golf Course (Bowling Green, Ohio). The nine teams played one round of 18 holes on Saturday.
The Falcons have a team score of 312, one stroke back of second-place Toledo (311) and five strokes back of first-place Xavier (307).
BGSU senior Shelley Binzel is tied for the tournament lead with a low score of 74. She carded a 37 on each of the front and back nine holes. Xavier's Beth Hamilton is tied with Binzel.
Falcon junior Jenny Schnipke is tied for seventh place with a score of 77 (40-37). Other Falcons that scored were Stephanie Elsea (T-14th, 79), Amanda Schroeder (T-23rd, 82) and Emily Hassen (28th, 84).
Rounding out the nine teams are Youngstown (314), Ball State (320), Northern Illinois (344), Oakland (346), Findlay (354) and Gannon (361).
The Lady Falcon Invitational ends tomorrow, Sept. 22, with one round of 18. The shotgun start is set for 9 a.m.
