Two Falcons Named to All-MAC Soccer Second Team

Cleveland, Ohio - Bowling Green State University men's soccer players Paul Dhaliwal and Eric Duda were named to the 2003 Mid-American Conference Second Team, announced today by the league office.
Dhaliwal, a senior forward from Edmonton, Alberta, is third on the team with eight points, including three goals and two assists, in 17 games played. Duda, a senior defender from Bloomingdale, Ill., leads the team and is among the league leaders with eight assists. League coaches voted on the All-MAC teams.
The MAC office also announced its All-Academic Team on Thursday with senior goalkeeper David DeGraff and Duda making the list. DeGraff is a criminal justice major with a 3.20 grade-point-average and it marked the second-consecutive year he had been recognized for his academic accomplishments by the league. Duda is majoring in recreation.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
MAC Player of the Year was Kentucky's Jamal Shteiwi, MAC Newcomer of the Year was Kentucky's Riley O'Neill, and MAC Coach of the Year was Western Michigan's Chris Karwoski.
