FOURTH STRAIGHT YEAR THEY HAVE MET
The Falcons and Wolverines are meeting for the fourth straight season with the home team winning the previous three meetings. Michigan won in 2000 (89-71) and 2002 (83-57), while BGSU triumphed in 2001 (65-59).
FALCONS HIT THE ROAD
The Falcons are in a stretch where they are playing seven of nine away from Anderson Arena. After hosting Detroit on December 18, the Falcons will play in the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu on December 28-30.
MAC LEADERS
Sophomore guard Ron Lewis, coming off a 33-point performance at IPFW, is second in the MAC in scoring at 19.4 points per game. Freshman Austin Montgomery is the MAC's top free throw shooter having hit all 16 of his charity tosses. As a team, BGSU leads the league at the free throw line hitting on 81.7% of its free throw attempts. BGSU also leads the MAC in assists at 17 per game. Junior Cory Eyink is second in the MAC in defensive rebounds (5.8), while senior Kevin Netter is third in the league in field goal percentage (51.6).
FALCON NOTES
Ron Lewis topped 30 points for the third time in his career and second time this season with his 33-point effort at IPFW. He made a career-high 12 field goals and took a career-high 23 shot attempts. He had 14 points against the Wolverines last year. With his 40 minutes against IPFW, Lewis played 40 minutes or more in a game for the fourth time in his career.
In the last three games, Austin Montgomery is averaging 15 points per contest and has made 58% of his shots from the field and 50% of his three-point opportunities during that time.
Kevin Netter is averaging 15 points in his last five games. Last year, he had 20 points against Michigan.
Junior Josh Almanson is averaging nine points and 5.5 rebounds in his last two games.
