Track & Field Opens Indoor Season

FINDLAY, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University track & field squad showcased several new talents at the Oiler Open over the weekend (Dec. 11) to begin the indoor portion of their season. The Falcons claimed three first place finishes inside the Malcolm Athletic Center.
Junior Amber Walker placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.21. Valerie Holland finished directly behind Walker with a time of 25.45. Holland also placed second in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.13.
Sophomore Leslie Carden ran a 10:39.62 in the 3000-meters to place second in the event.
The Bowling Green 4x400 meter relay team captured first place with a time of 3:56.54.
Rookie Debuts
Jenny Peck placed first in the pole vault with a jump of 3.20 meters.
Ashley Butler posted a 26.47 in the 200-meter dash to finish third.
With a jump of 5.63 meters freshman Erica Wilson placed third in the long jump. Wilson also placed fifth in the high jump (1.55 meters).
Paris Bussy placed third in the weight throw (13.21 meters) and fifth in the shot put (11.83 meters).
The Falcons return to action on January 17, when they host the BGSU Quintriangular. The meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
