Culp, Ramirez Earn MVP Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Amber Culp and Edgar Ramirez picked up Most Valuable Runner honors as the Bowling Green State University cross country teams of coach Cami Wells held their annual Awards/Alumni Banquet on Sunday (Dec. 7). The event, which was sponsored by the BG Cross Country Alumni Association, was held at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
Culp, a senior, earned the honor for the second consecutive season for the BGSU women's team. She was the Falcons' top finisher in all nine of BGSU's 2003 races, and in each of her final 15 collegiate races dating to early in the 2002 season. She set a school 6000-meter record in her final race, at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native was named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team in 2003.

Culp and Kris Lachowski earned Captain's Awards for the women's and men's teams, respectively. Leslie Carden was named the Most Improved Runner for the BGSU women.
Bridget Dalic and Andrea Pollack shared the Most Valuable Freshman award for the women, while Edwin Cheruiyot earned the honor on the men's side.
