FALCONS PLAY EIGHTH MAC ROAD GAME
The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the MAC, will be the first league team to play its eighth conference game away from home when it visits Toledo, 9-11 and 3-7 in the MAC. With 24 days remaining in the regular season, the Falcons have just one more conference road trip (Feb. 26 at Ball State). BGSU closes the MAC season with three straight home games (Miami, Eastern Michigan, Toledo). The Falcons have MAC road wins against Northern Illinois, Kent State and Ohio.
BGSU IN FEBRUARY
Since the 1998-99 season, BGSU is 27-11 (71.1%) in the month of February, including an 11-8 (57.9%) mark on the road.
THE SERIES
This will be the 147th meeting between the two teams, the most played rival for either team, with the Rockets holding a 75-71 edge in the series. No current BGSU player has ever started a game in this series. The last two games at Savage Hall have seen the Rockets pull out two victories by a combined five points. In both games, BGSU held a one-point lead in the final two minutes only to see the Rockets rally for the win.
TWO STREAKS FALL AT MARSHALL
The host Thundering Herd scored the final nine points to rally for a 56-54 win on Saturday night over BGSU. BGSU led 54-47 with 4:29 left but did not score the rest of the game. Despite holding Marshall to a season-low 33.3 percent effort from the field, it marked the first time since the 2000 MAC Tournament quarterfinal against Miami, that BGSU had lost a game where it held an opponent to 60 points or below (18 games). In addition, it also was the first time in 15 MAC contests that BGSU did not win a game it led at halftime against a league foe (at Akron, 2002).
NEVER OUT OF IT
This season, the Falcons have rallied from a 24-point deficit at Kent State, a 16-point disadvantage at Ohio and came back from 11 points behind against Cleveland State, to post victories.
