CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's tennis student-athlete Alyson Gabel has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office has announced. Gabel, a senior, earns the honor for the first time in her collegiate career.

The following day (Feb. 22), Gabel was victorious at both singles and doubles as BG beat Butler by a 5-2 score. Gabel downed BU's Alaina Griffin (4-6, 6-4, 6-1) at the second singles flight, and teamed with junior Gaby Coello for an 8-3 victory at third doubles.
Gabel, a team co-captain, has a 7-10 singles record this year, including a 4-4 mark in dual-match play.
