FALCONS HIT THE ROAD AGAIN
The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team, 10-9 overall and 6-5 in the MAC, will play its 12th game away from home when it visits Marshall, 9-10 and 5-6 in the MAC. The Falcons will play four of its next five games on the road. BGSU closes the MAC season with three straight home games (Miami, Eastern Michigan, Toledo).
BGSU IN FEBRUARY
Since the 1998-99 season, BGSU is 27-10 (73.0%) in the month of February, including an 11-7 (61.1%) mark on the road.
THE SERIES
The Falcons hold a 28-22 lead in the series which began in the 1953-54 season. The Falcons have won six of the last seven meetings, with the lone blemish coming in Huntington, 63-55, in 2001. Prior to that, the Falcons had won on their previous two visits to the Henderson Center.
OUT OF THE GATE
Both teams began the MAC campaign by winning its first four league games this season.
COMEBACK BID FALLS SHORT AGAINST KENT STATE
The Falcons nearly rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit, pulling to within one point (60-59 with 5:12 remaining) before falling to MAC leader Kent State, 73-67, at Anderson Arena. Sophomore John Reimold had the first double-double of his career with 18 points and a season-high 10 rebounds. Freshman Ron Lewis had a Falcon season-best 12 rebounds and added nine points, four assists and three blocked shots. Junior Kevin Netter had 17 points and made 11 of 12 free throws as the Falcons shot a season-high 93.8 from the free throw line (15/16). Senior Cory Ryan had 14 points off the bench, including four three-point baskets. The Falcons also tied their season-low when they committed just 11 turnovers.
This season, the Falcons have rallied from a 24-point deficit at Kent State, a 16-point disadvantage at Ohio and came back from 11 points behind against Cleveland State, to post victories.
