Falcons Prepare For MAC Championships

Bowling Green, Ohio - With just over one week away, the Falcons will welcome Kent State and Western Michigan to Anderson Arena to prepare for the 2003 MAC Championships, which will be held on March 29 at Bowling Green. The meet with the Golden Flashes and Broncos is set to begin Saturday, March 22, at 7:00 p.m.
The Falcons are coming off a 196.325-193.200 defeat at the hands of #25 Central Michigan. Despite the loss Kathy Emerson continued her hot streak on the uneven bars, with her third straight score of 9.875 or better on the bars.
Although the Golden Flashes lost to Ohio State 196.825-196.450, KSU posted strong performances during Senior Day in the M.A.C. Center. Earline Feugill tied the Kent State all-time career record on floor with a 9.975, also setting a personal-best.
The Broncos are coming of a 194.050-193.350 loss to Northern Illinois in their home finale. Sophomore Amanda Surridge continued her steady effort on vault, leading the lineup with an effort of 9.750. The team's lone senior, Nicole Berends, was right behind at 9.725 in her final appearance at University Arena.
Following the tri-meet, the Falcons will play host for the 2003 MAC Championships on March 29 at Anderson Arena.
