2003 FALCONS TO WATCH
Vault
Freshman Jessica Guyer (Columbus, OH) is tied for 11th in the MAC with a 9.825 vault score. She owns the top BGSU mark on the vault with that same 9.825, which resulted in a first place finish at Northern Illinois on February 9. Guyer also owns a second place finish versus Pittsburgh and Wilson College on March 2 with a score of 9.800. Senior Ann Marie Kassouf (Middleburg Heights, OH) is tied with Guyer on the MAC list with a 9.825, which resulted in a fourth place finish versus Kent State.
Bars
Sophomore Kari Elste (Wheaton, Ill.) posted a first place finish with a 9.850 on the bars back on March 2, versus Pittsburgh and Wilson College. Junior Melissa Popovich (Medina, OH) owns a second place finish versus Pittsburgh and Wilson College on March 2, with a score of 9.825. She owns three of the top seven bars performances for the Falcons this season.
Beam
Senior Kathy Emerson (Findlay, OH) posted scores of 9.875 or better three consecutive weeks on beam (9.900 at Central Michigan on 3/15, 9.875 @ All-Ohio Championships on 3/8, 9.900 vs. Pittsburgh and Wilson College on 3/2). The score of 9.900 ranks her second all-time in Falcon history on the beam. She ranks fourth in the MAC with that same 9.900.
Floor
Guyer ranks third in the MAC on the floor exercise with a 9.950, which she posted in her final meet of the season versus Kent State and Western Michigan on March 22. Popovich ranks ninth in the MAC with a top score of 9.900 on the floor. She posted a 9.900 in her final regular season meet on March 22, as well as a 9.900 on January 12,
All-Around
Kassouf ranks third in Falcon history in the all-around with a score of 39.125. Ranks eighth in the MAC in the all-around. Popovich owns a 38.975 personal best all-around score and ranks 11th in the league.
