BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Kevin Longstreth is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Longstreth, a sophomore on the BGSU baseball team, hit .350 in five games last week.
Longstreth, a native of Middle Point, Ohio, had seven hits, including three doubles, tying him for the team lead in the latter category on the week. Longstreth had a slugging percentage of .500 and an on-base pct. of .381.
On the week, Longstreth had three two-hit games, including a pair against Eastern Michigan in the teams' weekend MAC series.
Longstreth, a recreation major, has a 3.40 cumulative grade point average through the fall, 2002, semester.
The Falcons are scheduled to play five non-conference contests this week, beginning with a Wednesday (April 2) game at Cleveland State, beginning at 3:00 p.m. This weekend, the Falcons will play a home-and-home set with Oakland, hosting the Golden Grizzlies for a pair of Saturday (April 5) games before heading to Rochester, Mich., for Sunday's doubleheader. Start time each day is scheduled for noon.
