BGSU Slips to Sixth After Day Two of MAC Championships

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team slipped from second place to sixth place in the second day of the 2003 Mid-American Conference Championship, being held at Walden Ponds Golf Course in Cincinnati, Ohio.
BGSU was second after day one with a 18-hole score of 307. However, the Falcons added 25 strokes on day two, finishing with a 332. The Falcons have a two-round score of 639, four strokes behind Ohio for fifth place. Kent State leads the tournament with a score of 586.
Seniors Shelley Binzel and Emily Hassen are both tied after two rounds for 10th place with a score of 155. Binzel shot a team-low 79 in day two while Hassen carded a 81 on Saturday. Hassen shot a career-low 74 on Friday in the first round.
Junior Jenny Schnipke is tied for 22nd place (162), senior Stephanie Elsea is tied for 29th place (167) and freshman Amanda Schroeder is 43rd (185) after two rounds.
KSU's Veronique Drouin leads the tournament with a score of 145.
The final round of the MAC Championships will be played on Sunday.
