Kerns And Paine Named To Verizon Academic Second Team

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University student-athletes Katrina Kerns and Christy Paine were named to the Verizon Academic All-District IV Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team. Kerns (Bellefontaine, OH) and Paine (Mentor, OH) were both four-year members of the Falcon track team.
The team is the result of voting by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members within District IV. The district consists of schools in the states of Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. To qualify for nomination, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Additionally, he/she must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution.
Paine earned her second team nominee by compiling a 3.92 GPA throughout her Falcon career, majoring in pre-physical therapy.
With a 4.00 GPA Kerns earned her spot on the second team. She is majoring in Biology.
