CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference office has authorized the release of the MAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2002-03 academic year, and Bowling Green State University men's basketball student-athlete Cory Eyink was among those honored. The BGSU athletic department had a total of 122 student-athletes selected.
To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. True freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible, as a student-athlete must have attended the institution for an entire year to qualify for the award.
Last season, Eyink averaged 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds for the Brown and Orange. He led the team in three-point field goal percentage at 48.0 percent, which is the third best single-season percentage in BGSU history.
The Falcons, despite battling a rash of injuries throughout the entire season, finished 2002-03 with an overall record of 13-16. For much of the MAC schedule, coach Dan Dakich and his staff were down to six scholarship players, two football players and a walk-on.
The cumulative GPA figure below is through the fall, 2002, semester, as the nominations were made before the conclusion of the spring, 2003, semester.
