Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team, along with Austin Peay State University, will serve as co-hosts of the 2004 Big Red Classic in Ocala, Fla., it was announced today. The tournament will be held March 13-14, 2004, at Lake Diamond Golf Club, north of Orlando.
"We're excited to affiliate our name with the Big Red Classic," said BGSU coach Garry Winger, who enters his sixth season leading the Falcons.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Indiana University and Ball State University were unable to serve as hosts for this year's tournament. Fifteen teams are expected to participate, including BGSU.
The Falcons kick off their 2003 Fall schedule on Sept. 14-16 when they host the third annual John Piper Intercollegiate at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
