BGSU and Cincinnati End in 0-0 Tie

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green fought to a 0-0 tie against visiting Cincinnati on Saturday evening in the 2003 season opener for both teams. The Falcons used stingy defense to hold the Bearcats to just seven shots on goal while BGSU had five attempts on net.
Senior David DeGraff, starting his 55th consecutive match in net for the Falcons, posted his 14th career shutout by knocking away six of the seven UC shot attempts. Three of his saves came in the second overtime period. One shot on goal by the Bearcats was kicked away by junior P.J. Behan, who was playing in his first game in over a year since recovering from an ACL injury.
Sophomore-transfer Omari aldridge had two shots on goal for BGSU while Paul Dhaliwal, Bobby Woods and Behan had the other three. UC goalkeeper John Adams had four saves with one team save.
UC held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks and had one more foul than the Falcons (10-9).
With the tie, BGSU snapped a three-game losing streak in season openers dating back to 1999.
The Falcons (0-0-1) return to action next Sunday, Sept. 7, when they host Wis.-Green Bay at Mickey Cochrane Field, beginning at 2 p.m.
