THE START OF MAC PLAY
The Falcons open up the 2003 MAC season with a Homecoming contest against Central Michigan. Last year, the Falcons were the Chippewas' Homecoming opponent and were victorious on the road with a 45-35 triumph.
HOMECOMING
The Falcons are 49-22-10 in Homecoming games. They posted a 72-21 victory over Ohio in last year's Homecoming contest.
IN THE NATION
The Falcons were rated 28th in the AP poll, 25th by The Sporting News and 38th by the coaches. The Falcons are rated third in the country in total offense (523.0), sixth in passing offense (353.3), fifth in scoring offense (42.25), and eighth in passing efficiency (156.6). Junior Cole Magner is 10th in receiving yards (106.3), 12th in receptions (7.3), and senior Josh Harris is 14th in total offense (286.5).
STREAKS AND SUCH
The Falcons have won their last nine games in which they have had a player rush for more than 100 yards in a game.
The Falcons have won their last eight games when they held an opponent below 100 yards rushing.
The Falcons have seven games since 2001 where they have amassed 500 yards or more of total offense.
BGSU has won 15 of its last 19 games since late in the 2001 season.
BGSU has received votes in a major top 25 poll in 14 of the last 21 polls dating back to the end of the 2001 season.
BGSU has won nine straight games at Perry Stadium, the longest current home-field win streak in the MAC. In those nine home games, the Falcons have scored a total of 494 points, an average of 54.9 per game ... BGSU has scored over 60 points in four of those games, including in each of the last three home contests.
