BGSU Women's Golf Set to Begin 2003-04 Season

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will begin the 2003 Fall season on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State University in Yorktown, Ind. The two-day, 36-hole tournament will be held at The Player's Club with an 8 a.m. shotgun start each day.
This year's field includes Austin Peay, Bowling Green, Butler, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Indianapolis, IUPUI, Oakland, Southern Indiana, Toledo, Western Michigan, Rend Lake and Youngstown State. Yardage for the course is 6,164 yards.
BGSU is led by Kurt Thomas, who begins his seventh season as the head coach of the Falcons. Notable returners for Thomas include seniors Kari Evans, Jenny Schnipke and Julie Wise. Schnipke finished second on last year's team with a 79.17 average in 23 rounds and a 26th place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
Bowling Green hosts the Falcon Fall Invitational next weekend (Sept. 13-14) at Forrest Creason Golf Course.
